This online training offers three-modules that are designed to equip general education professionals (grades K-12) with the knowledge and skills they need for working with deaf and hard of hearing students in the classroom or school environment.  Developed in a collaboration between the Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center and the Texas Education Service Center 20, this resource allows users to view topics of interest or to complete the modules in their entirety.

This resource will help you to do the following:

  • prepare for having deaf and hard of hearing students in your classroom
  • include the principles behind educational planning and use them within the classroom or school
  • understand how laws governing educational services for deaf and hard of hearing students support your work
  • incorporate evidence-based practices to better prepare for and work with deaf and hard of hearing students within your classroom or school
  • consider and familiarize yourself with teaching and inclusion strategies for incorporation in your classroom or school
