Recorded Trainings
When WSDS conducts trainings via Blackboard Collaborate (an eLearning software application that includes live videoconferencing and multimedia capability) we will record and post them.
You can access these trainings here and learn at a time and place that works for you. Most Blackboard trainings are approximately 90 minutes in length. The recordings allow you to fast forward, repeat sections, pause while viewing, and go back through the slides once the recording has concluded.

Dual Sensory Disabilities (Deaf-Blindness)
Kathee Scoggin, instructor for the trainings on deaf-blindness below, is a sought-after trainer on topics relating to children with multiple disabilities including deaf-blindness both in-state and nationally. She holds a B.A. in Deaf Education and M.Ed. in Special Education with an emphasis on sensory disabilities. Kathee has 30+ years experience as a teacher, assessment specialist, principal, and educational consultant with children (birth to 21) with hearing loss and deaf-blindness.

Instructions for Earning Clock Hours

Continue to check back as the other recorded trainings will also become available for clock hours throughout the school year. Blindness/Visual Impairment
New! Elizabeth Dennison is the presenter for the 4-part training series on Emergent Literacy for Students with Visual Impairments. She has her Masters in Education of the Blind and Visually Impaired with 36 years of experience working with children birth to five who are visually impaired including multiple disabilities. Elizabeth works part-time for the SKI-HI Institute at Utah State University conducting VIISA and INSITE trainings across the country, as well as developing curriculum and training materials. She also works part-time for the Utah School for the Blind serving families of children birth to five with vision impairments.
Each session of this series is about an hour and a half long and is available for a certificate of completion.
