The Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB/Paraeducator Board) is hosting a “Listening Session with Paraeducators” on November 23, 3:30-5:30 p.m. This webinar is an opportunity for board members to hear from paraeducators about their roles and responsibilities under COVID-19 and how continued training is critical to both paraeducators and students’ success.
We invite all community members to attend, especially paraeducators, district staff, state legislators, and stakeholders. Paraeducators interested in sharing their experiences with board members during the webinar can submit their feedback to four questions using an online sign-up form. Paraeducators interested in sharing feedback live also need to be registered to attend the webinar. We will also accept live comments from paraeducators on Zoom and Facebook.
The agenda for the webinar will include the following:
- Review of paraeducator training requirements
- Review of the Paraeducator Board’s 2021 legislative request
- Hear from paraeducators about the training they’ve received and how they are using it to improve their students’ academic and social-emotional learning.
- Hear from paraeducators about their role during COVID-19
Register to attend the webinar. Paraeducators interested in sharing feedback should complete this online sign-up form.
